It has been over eight years since my last Dish & Room blog post! Since then, blogs have pretty much gone out of fashion, and my relationship to dining and travel has evolved immensely. I’m now the proud mama of a sweet 7.5 year old boy named Miles, whom I coparent with my ex-husband and former travel partner Jack (featured prominently in previous posts). Miles and I live in the charming town of Petaluma, about an hour’s drive north of my favorite city in the world and former home, San Francisco. I now live close to my parents and brothers, and I’ve made new deep friendships in this new phase of life here in Sonoma County.

Between being a new mom, going through a divorce, navigating a global pandemic, and scaling back my work hours to balance single parenthood, travel and dining out were no longer as much of a focus in my life for several years. But little by little, I’ve been reintroducing these passions back into my life. My travel budget, goals, and schedule look a bit different now, and my hope is that I can inspire other single parents and people with limited time and money to find ways to prioritize travel in your lives as well.

Upcoming posts I plan to write include my recent trip to an all-inclusive family-friendly resort in Cabo, my epic trip to Greece with my mom, spring break in Legoland California, a weekend trip to Disneyland, and a weeklong family summer camp in the Sierra Nevada mountains. I also hope to outline how I’m continuing to optimize travel points to make this travel possible in this phase of my life. Thanks for sticking around to catch up on my life – it’s wildly different than it used to be, and it’s fun, adventurous, and beautiful!
